shannon.jpgI am a full-time freelance photographer living and working in the great city of Nashville, Tennessee. In former lives I was a professional musician and later a bartender. I don't know if those two particular skill sets add anything to my marketability as a photographer but they sound like cool jobs so I thought I'd put them in here.

I am famous.

It's true. Around school I am widely known as "Allyson's Dad" and also "John Robert's Dad", two titles I wear with tremendous pride. But to be truthful, even as a nationally published photographer I'm probably most famous here in town as the guy who's married to (singer/pianist) Teri Reid.

As a photographer I am blessed with an extremely varied client list - I shoot for companies like Community Health Systems, O’Charley’s, Fridrich and Clark Realty, LP Corp, Southeast Ventures and many more. I am blessed to have been able to shoot with nationally known Interior Designers Kimberlie Bloodworth, for Nasvhille Lifestyles magazine, and Kathy Anderson in the Presidential, and Porter Wagoner Suites in the post flood Opryland Hotel.

My team and I have published in magazines like People Magazine Special Editions, Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, Planet Muscle, Ultimate MMA's The Girls of MMA, Personal Chef (November ’07 cover) and Country Weekly to name only a few. We’ve shot published ads for Serendipity Clothing, The Freeman Webb Company, Davishire Galleries, Next Generation Imaging (medical) and literally hundreds more.

My wife and I run a full service photography studio in the 12 South District of Nashville. I started out in photography doing portraits of my kids and portrait work is still very important to me. In the past few years I’ve shot with everything and everyone from rock musicians to newborn babies to professional fashion models to national fitness competitors and by the way the picture to the right is me, six hundred and fifty feet in the air in the crane on top of the Batman Building shooting the steelworkers who were putting up the new AT&T sign.

Like I said, extremely varied.
